Information about the right of withdrawal

For services, the period begins when the contract is concluded. For sales, it begins upon physical receipt of the goods; special rules apply to multiple goods, lots and periodic deliveries.

Exercise the right by sending an unequivocal statement before the period expires. The model form may be used but is not mandatory.

From 19 June 2026, Article 11^1 governs the withdrawal function for distance contracts concluded through an online interface. After “Confirm withdrawal” is activated, the shop sends an acknowledgement on a durable medium without undue delay, including the declaration content and its submission date and time.

Subject to the law, the trader reimburses payments and standard delivery costs without undue delay and ordinarily within 14 days of being informed. Reimbursement may be withheld until goods or dispatch evidence are received, where applicable.

The consumer sends the goods without undue delay and ordinarily within 14 days after communicating the withdrawal.

The consumer bears the direct return cost if properly informed and the trader has not agreed to bear it.

The consumer is liable only for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

The right does not apply in the cases listed in Article 16 of Romanian Emergency Ordinance 34/2014, including, where applicable, personalised or perishable goods, certain unsealed hygiene goods and digital content supplied under the statutory conditions.
